Meeka Centimano founded The Pregnancy and Postpartum Resource Center in 2003. It was through her own battle with postpartum depression and anxiety that the notion of The Pregnancy and Postpartum Resource Center was first born. She was a social worker by trade so the concept seemed simple – create a space unlike any other in the Midwest devoted to educating and providing resources to families with pregnancy and postpartum related mood disorders. It is exactly what she was frantically searching for in the midst of her own struggle in 2000. And it is where many other women have since found refuge. Meeka’s work is now devoted to counseling families suffering from pregnancy and postpartum distress as well as training health professionals at the local, regional, and national level. Meeka lives in the Kansas City area with her husband and daughter.
